The SEO & GEO knowledge base
Rank in Google. Get cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini. Technical SEO, content strategy, link building, and the Generative Engine Optimization playbook for 2026.
Search is being rewritten in front of us. By 2026, an estimated 35–45% of informational queries never reach a traditional search results page — they are answered directly by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, or Google AI Overviews. If your brand is not in those answers, you are invisible to a third of your potential audience. Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the discipline of getting cited by AI assistants. This hub covers both traditional SEO and the new GEO playbook.
We've been doing technical SEO since 2009 and have shipped 60+ SEO/GEO engagements for clients in the US, UK, UAE, India, Australia, Canada, and the EU. The combined organic traffic of the sites we manage exceeds 4M sessions/month. The average year-one organic traffic lift for new clients is 187% (median: 142%). We don't promise page-one rankings in 30 days — we promise compounding, defensible organic growth built on technical foundations, content, and authority.

Frequently asked questions
What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?+
GEO is the practice of optimizing your brand, content, and entity signals to be cited by AI assistants — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Google AI Overviews. GEO is the natural successor to SEO. Where SEO targets ranked links, GEO targets cited sentences. The two overlap heavily on the technical side (schema, semantic HTML, E-E-A-T) but diverge on content strategy: GEO rewards statistical specificity, expert quotes, citation-worthy data, and authoritative third-party mentions far more than keyword density.
How is GEO different from SEO?+
SEO targets ranked links on search engine results pages. GEO targets cited sentences in AI-generated answers. Technical foundations overlap heavily — both require schema markup, fast load times, semantic HTML, and a strong knowledge graph. Content strategy differs: GEO rewards specificity, named entities, primary-source citations, and brand mentions on authoritative third-party sites. A page can rank #1 on Google and never be cited by ChatGPT (if it's generic and lacks quotable claims), and vice versa.
How do I get my brand cited by ChatGPT?+
Six levers, in order of impact: (1) Build a strong knowledge graph — consistent brand entity across your About page, Wikipedia/Wikidata (if eligible), Crunchbase, LinkedIn, GitHub, and Google Business Profile. (2) Add llms.txt and llms-full.txt to your site. (3) Implement JSON-LD schema on every page. (4) Rewrite your top 10 pages with a quotable first sentence, named experts, and primary-source citations. (5) Run a digital PR sprint — 10–20 mentions on DR60+ publications. (6) Track AI citations weekly across 50–100 buyer-intent prompts. Budget 8–12 hours/week for sustained results.
What is llms.txt and do I need it?+
llms.txt is a plain-text manifest at /llms.txt that gives AI crawlers a curated map of your site. It's an emerging standard (proposed by Jeremy Howard in 2024) that AI engines explicitly crawl. llms-full.txt is the companion file that contains the full content of your key pages in a single text corpus. Together they dramatically increase AI crawler comprehension of your site. Yes, you need both — they take 4–6 hours to set up correctly, and they're now a baseline GEO investment.
How long does SEO take to show results?+
Technical SEO fixes (schema, CWV, internal linking, redirects) show impact in 4–8 weeks via improved crawl + indexation. Content + on-page SEO compounds over 3–6 months. Link building + digital PR shows ranking movement in 2–4 months and significant traffic lift in 6–9 months. GEO citations appear faster — within 2–6 weeks of the technical setup going live, if your entity is well-established. We share our honest timeline estimates in every proposal — we don't promise page-one rankings in 30 days, because that's not how the algorithms work.
