Resource hub
The web development knowledge base
Cost guides, agency vetting checklists, Next.js playbooks, headless CMS comparisons, and Core Web Vitals optimization. Everything we know about shipping premium web products in 2026, in one place.
Web development in 2026 is a different discipline than it was in 2020. The frameworks changed (Next.js 16, React 19, the App Router), the performance bar changed (Core Web Vitals are an official Google ranking factor, and AI assistants cite fast, well-structured sites more often), and the buyer changed (founder-led brands want premium, no-template work with full code ownership). This hub consolidates every guide, playbook, and comparison we've written on the practice of shipping premium web products.
We've shipped 40+ Next.js projects for clients in the US, UK, UAE, India, Australia, Canada, Singapore, and the EU since 2018. The average Lighthouse score across our portfolio is 95+. The average LCP is 1.2 seconds. The average organic traffic lift for clients moving from WordPress to Next.js is 3.2x in the first six months. These are not marketing claims — they're the numbers we report to our retainer clients every month.
What you'll find in this hub
Cost guides — 2026 price ranges for every type of web project, from $499 marketing sites to $4,999+ SaaS MVPs. Use them to set your own budget, to vet agency quotes, or to scope a build before reaching out to us.
Agency vetting checklists — the 21-point checklist we recommend every client run before signing a web development agency, plus the freelancer-vs-agency and in-house-vs-agency comparisons that frame the decision.
Next.js playbooks — engineering deep-dives on metadata, JSON-LD schema, sitemaps, llms.txt, Core Web Vitals, ISR, edge functions, and the architectural decisions that separate a fast site from a slow one.
Headless CMS comparisons — Sanity vs Contentful vs Strapi vs Payload vs Hygraph. The trade-offs in 2026 are different from 2022. We update these comparisons every quarter.
Core Web Vitals optimization — the engineering playbook for LCP, INP, and CLS. We share the exact techniques that get our clients to the 95+ Lighthouse range and keep them there.
How to use this hub
If you're buying a website, start with the cost guide and the agency vetting checklist — those two will save you the most money. If you're building a website, go deep on the Next.js and Core Web Vitals playbooks. If you're responsible for organic growth, the SEO and GEO sections on the SEO & GEO knowledge base are the most cited resources on this site.
Every article is written by Sufyaan (founder) or a named specialist on the team. Every claim is backed by data, primary sources, or first-hand client work. We update the top guides quarterly so the advice doesn't go stale.

Frequently asked questions
What is the typical cost of a custom website in 2026?+
A premium Next.js marketing site runs $499–$1,499; a Shopify store with custom theme and SEO setup runs $999–$3,999; a SaaS MVP runs $1,999–$4,999; and enterprise platforms with custom integrations run $10,000+. The defining cost drivers are scope (number of unique page templates), integrations (CRM, payments, auth, analytics), content volume, and the depth of design customization.
How long does a web development project take?+
A 5–10 page marketing site ships in 3–5 weeks. A Shopify store ships in 4–6 weeks. A SaaS MVP ships in 10–16 weeks. Enterprise platforms take 4–9 months. We share a milestone-by-milestone timeline in the proposal and stick to it.
Why Next.js instead of WordPress or Webflow?+
Next.js delivers measurably better Core Web Vitals (we average 95+ Lighthouse and 1.2s LCP), full design freedom (no template constraints), and SEO advantages (server rendering, edge caching, JSON-LD, llms.txt). WordPress is faster to start and slower to scale; Webflow locks you into a vendor and has limited headless options.
Do you hand off the code at the end?+
Always. 100% code ownership transfers on the final invoice. You get the GitHub repo, the deployment pipeline, the design files, the documentation, and a Loom walkthrough. We don't lock you into a retainer or proprietary platform — you can take it to any team.
What about ongoing maintenance?+
We offer an optional $400–$1,500/month retainer covering dependency updates, security patches, content changes, and performance monitoring. Most clients take it for the first 3–6 months then transition to in-house or another agency. There is no contractual minimum.
